The National Weather Service in Wilmington has extended the
* Flash Flood Warning for... Northwestern Auglaize County in west central Ohio... Mercer County in west central Ohio...
* Until 1100 AM EDT.
* At 826 AM EDT, radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Celina, St. Marys, Coldwater, New Bremen, Rockford, Wabash, Mendon, Chickasaw, Montezuma, Tama, Neptune, Carthagena, Bulkhead, State Route 116 at State Route 197, Chattanooga and Kossuth.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central and west central Ohio, including the following counties, in central Ohio, Delaware, Franklin, Licking, Madison and Union. In west central Ohio, Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Hardin, Logan, Mercer, Miami and Shelby.
* WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will move across parts of the area this morning, possibly extending into early afternoon. This may result in bands of heavier rainfall that could lead to flash flooding.

Dean Paulus
Dean Michael Paulus, age 63, of St. Marys passed away on April 7, 2025. He was born February 21, 1962 to Robert and Ludvina Jacqueline (née Fortman) Paulus, who survive.
A 1981 graduate of Memorial High School, he joined the family business, working at Northmoor Golf as the golf course superintendent
Dean is survived by his three sons, Drew Paulus, Trent (Sarah) Paulus, and Will Paulus, and his granddaughters, Evelyn and Lorelei Paulus. He is also survived by his sister Lynne (Dennis) Ray, and his brother Bobby Paulus, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is survived by his former wife, Beth Ford, of Harrod. His in-laws, Wally and Erma Winegardner, preceded him in death.
Dean was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed fishing at the St. Marys river and fishing at Grand Lake with his granddaughters.
Dean was a scratch golfer and often played in tournaments with his sons and his golfing friends. He was a five-time club champion at Northmoor and won many tournaments at area golf courses. He shared his love of golf with his sons, and he and his sons were all members of the St. Marys Roughrider golf teams. He was very proud of his annual participation and contributions to the St. Marys Rider golf camps.
Dean also loved playing in the local poker tournaments held in the area American Legion posts, Eagles Clubs, Moose Lodges and V.F.W. posts. He was witty, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved to socialize and leaves behind a long list of friends, co-workers, muscle car enthusiasts, golf partners, poker buddies, and the Board Games gang.
Visitation will be from 4 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West) in St. Marys, and on Tuesday 9 - 11:00 a.m. with a service immediately following visitation. Dean will be interred at Gethsemane Cemetery and a Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at Northmoor immediately following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness or The St. Marys Memorial High School Roughrider Golf Team.
