Jerome Laux
Jerome "Jerry" Laux, age 74, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
He was born on March 3, 1951, in Celina, Ohio, to the late Harry and Anna (Kramer) Laux.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucille Marie (Timmerman) Laux, whom he married on April 11, 1981 and who passed away on April 29, 2024; his brother, John Laux; his brother-in-law, Charles Shawver; and his in-laws, Wilfred (1st wife: Rita; 2nd wife: Jean) Timmerman, Erma (Art) Eischen, Gerald (Irene) Timmerman, Ruth (Lavern) Gruss, Richard (LouDonna) Timmerman, Joan (Gregor) Hartings, Louis (Alma) Timmerman, Esther (Ben) Hartings, Edna (Paul) Klingshirn, and Bernice (Urban) Dirksen, and Margaret Lucille Timmerman.
Jerry is survived by his sister, Margret Shawver of Fort Recovery; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Jerry was a 1970 graduate of Coldwater High School. He worked at the Hartwigs Turkey plant and spent many years collecting eggs for various farmers around the area. He then worked as a cleaner at Huffy's for several years. Jerry was a devoted husband and caregiver. He and Lucille were truly inseparable. He enjoyed doing cross stitch and traveling around the area with Lucille, and going on bus trips. Jerry was a lifelong farmer, and enjoyed being outdoors and tending to his garden. He enjoyed tractors and had a prized tractor that he took to many tractor shows and pulls. Jerry was a member of the Old Fashion Farmers in Van Wert. He and Lucille spent numerous years selling candy for the St. Anthony Ladies Sodality. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, April 14, 2025, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Guests may visit with Jerry's family on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM and again on Monday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Neurological Development or to the family to help offset final expenses.
