Township trustees will have final say to allow manure digester

COLDWATER - Butler Township Zoning Commission members unanimously voted to not recommend rezoning Steve Klosterman's land to allow for a manure digester.
Klosterman wants his 10-acre plot at the intersection of state Route 219 and U.S. 127 rezoned from agricultural to industrial. The zoning commission's recommendation now goes to Butler Township Trustees, who have the final say. [More]

NEW BREMEN - The village's newest employee works cheap and requires no health insurance or various fringe benefits with the exception of well-balanced meals, a roof over his head and occasional dog treats.
Chase, a 2-month-old Border Collie, met village council members Tuesday night. They hope he solves a continuing problem with Canada geese. Approximately 300 of the fowl have found a home in the fenced-in area near the village's wastewater plant. [More]

ST. MARYS - The St. Marys Roughriders' boys basketball took a break from the rigors of the Western Buckeye League on Tuesday night and used a great defensive effort to key a 63-28 rout of the Greenville Green Wave at MuroTech Court.
St. Marys gets back to .500 on the season at 6-6 with all six wins coming outside of WBL play. Greenville falls to 3-10 with the loss. [More]
