Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off. The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today. Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset as temperatures begin to drop below freezing. Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Administrators, classified staff will see increases
MARIA STEIN - Marion Local Schools board of education members on Monday night moved to increase the salaries of administrators by 2.5% and classified employees by 3%.
CELINA - School board members at Monday's meeting eliminated two classified employee positions.
Members voted to eliminate Mercer County Head Start employees Tom Muhlenkamp's and Nick Fleck's positions as two-hour bus driver and two-hour bus aide, respectively.
ROCKFORD - Police are still investigating after a vehicle used by a suspect in a high-speed chase was found abandoned in a wooded area about a mile off the road.
