Kenneth Brummette
Kenneth R. Brummette, age 73, of rural Mendon, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Otterbein St. Marys SeniorLife Community.
He was born February 12, 1948, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, to the late Alonzo & Linda (Evans) Brummette. Ken and Camilla Singleton were married on November 5, 1982.
Camilla survives, along with 5 children: Vince (Lee) Brummette of Van Wert, Cindy Brummette of Shawnee, Kenneth Jr. (Sherry) Brummette of Convoy, Patricia Brummette (Brylee Speed) of Portland, Indiana, and Alonzo J. (Desna) Brummette of Ohio City; and Ken leaves behind 15 grandchildren: Cassey, Jacob, Kevanna, JD, Austin, McKenna, Emmit, Addalynn, Emily, Gabby, Jameson, Bella, Taylen, Chad, and AJ, and 8 great grandchildren. His 4 sisters & a brother also survive: Vicki Roberts of Middle Point, Judy (Dave) Highley of St. Marys, Mary (Mark) Myers of Fort Jennings, Paul (Jodi) Brummette of Van Wert, and Pauline Richardson of Celina, as well as many nieces & nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his 4-year-old son: Darrell E. Brummette, a nephew, Mitchell McGough, brothers-in-law: James B. Price and Kenneth Richardson, and parents-in-law: James & Oleta Singleton.
Ken had attended Celina High School. An over the road truck driver for over 50 years, Ken retired, then later began driving truck for his nephew, Tom Roberts. He was known by his CB Handle, "Big Wheels". A perfectionist, Ken was very detail-oriented in any project he worked on, whether it was working on cars or a remodeling project. Ken appreciated the outdoors, riding his John Deere lawn tractor, gardening, and fishing. A fan of the Browns and Buckeyes, he liked watching football and Fox News. He enjoyed drag racing and working on projects in the garage with his family. Ken's extended family was very important to him. He "thought the world" of all of them, and valued their time spent together.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 10, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, with Pastor Randy Christian, officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling Hours are 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 9, and an hour prior to Services on Friday, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina.
