Teresa Bambauer
Teresa Ann Bambauer (Hass), died Thursday, December 2, 2021 just 29 days before her 68th birthday (December 30, 1953) at her home in New Knoxville with her husband by her side. She had battled breast cancer since 2019.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Paul Bambauer, New Knoxville; children, Amanda Barney (Chris), Parma, Nathaniel (Tae-Yei) Frankfurt, Germany, and Lauren (Dimy) Valcin, Columbus; grandchildren, Brodrick and Nicole Barney, William, Harvey and Penelope Bambauer, and Alexander and Viviana Valcin; siblings, Coleen Smith (Jim), Columbus, and Janelle Duttenhoffer, Baltimore; uncle, Mike Haas (Joann), Wapakoneta; in-laws, Richard Bambauer, Pemberton, Gary and Sharyn Bambauer, Dayton, Joyce and Larry Engel, Bellefontaine; nieces and nephews, Eric Elliott, Susan Wolfe, Cheryl Stephens, Brian Bambauer, Lisa Bambauer, Lysa and Dan Click, Chris Riegel, Stacey and Bill Callison, Megan Smith, Brian and Nichole Duttenhoffer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clara Lee (Sunderland) and Leo Haas, Jr., Buckland; grandparents Bernice and Leo Haas, Sr., Buckland, and Earl and Hazel Sunderland, Lima; in-laws Harold and Dorothy Bambauer, New Knoxville; sister-in-law Gretchen Bambauer; aunt, Joann Burns Haas.
Teresa graduated from Wapakoneta High School in 1972, graduated with a degree in bookkeeping from International Business College in Ft. Wayne, Indiana in 1973 and married Paul at Buckland UCC Church on Feb. 2, 1974. After marriage, she worked for Manbeck Nursery in New Knoxville until starting a family and working full time with her family on the Red Gable Farm.  In 1986 she transitioned and began working outside of the home for Dr. Richard Harburd, followed by Jt. Township District Memorial Hospital, Wilson Hospital, German Farmers Home Mutual Insurance, Brookside Laboratory and another laboratory until she retired in 2019.
She served in various volunteer roles at Immanuel Church Kettlersville and in the community including, women's guild, youth fellowship advisor, counsistory, Sunday and Bible school teacher, Midwest Electric Donation Committee, NK Livestock Boosters 4-H Club advisor, and New Knoxville Historical Society. She loved to sew, bake, craft and spend time with her family and friends.  She always had time for a phone call with dear friends and family or an impromptu visit even if at the grocery store.  Many of her best and most memorable characteristics live on in her children and grandchildren and are seen and heard every day: a quick comeback, an ornery grin, a fierce Gin player (with the most quarters won), an infectious laugh, a big smile, the love of a good martini or shot of Jagger, creative party host, a confident opinion, a fast walker, the love to join in on a great prank, ability to make up new word pronunciations, the need to share her talents and time with others, and most of all, the love of family.
Calling hours will be Friday, December 10 from 2-4 PM to 6-8 PM at First Church Ministry Center, 200 W. Bremen St., New Knoxville, Ohio.
The funeral will be held Saturday, December 11 at 11 AM at Immanuel Church, Kettlersville, Ohio.
Memorial Gifts may be made to New Knoxville Historical Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
