Dorothy Huwer
Dorothy "Dot" Huwer, 92, of Saint Marys, died 7:52 P.M. Monday, November 29, 2021, at Vancrest of Saint Marys.
She was born September 3, 1929, in German Twp., New Bremen, Ohio, the daughter of William and Clara (Heil) Huenke. She married Charles Huwer on February 6, 1949, and he preceded her in death in 2018.
She is survived by her children: Geoffry (Betsy) Huwer of Boise, Idaho; Julia Graves of Saint Marys; Craig (Joni) Huwer of Saint Marys. She is survived by her grandchildren: Adam (Andrea) Graves of Saint Marys; Dr. Todd (Amy) Graves, D.C. of Springfield, Ohio; Josh (Rachel) Huwer of Idaho; Alex (Kelsey) Huwer of Idaho; Staff Sgt. Joe Huwer, serving in the US Army.  She is also survived by her great-grandsons: Lucas Graves and Tyler Graves of Saint Marys; Jack Huwer of Idaho. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Mary Maze; a special aunt, Jennie Huenke; a special uncle, Ed Huenke; a son-in-law, Don Graves; a niece, Kathy Jo Maze.
Dorothy spent 1st through 8th grade attending the one room Huenke School and she went on to attend and graduate from Saint Marys Memorial High School, class of 1947. She attended Miami University. She married Chuck in 1949 and became a baseball wife, traveling the country as he was playing with the Cleveland Indians farm system. After several years she helped in their family business, Huwer's Sporting Goods. After retirement they traveled a lot, took up golf and spent winters in Destin, Florida, making many lifetime friends there. Dot was a member of Northmoor Ladies Golf Association and the St. Marys Drama Club. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends.
Private family burial rites will be held at Gethsemane Cemetery, Pastor Bob Sweeney and Dan Griffin, officiants. 
Memorial gifts may be given to either Grand Lake Hospice or the St Marys Fire Department.
Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, is entrusted with Dot's funeral arrangements, and condolences may be sent to her family via Millerfuneralhomes.net.
