Joan Bruns
Joan K. Bruns, age 88, of Coldwater, died Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
She was born April 24, 1933 in Coldwater. She married Donald F. Bruns on February 12, 1955 and he died June 4, 1991.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (Mike) Bruns of Celina, Rebecca (Kevin) Harman of Versailles, David (Bonnie) Bruns of Philothea; 20 grandchildren; 50+ great-grandchildren; sister Vera (Walt) Bills of Virginia; and in-laws, James Nolan of Ft. Wayne and Judy Gehle of New Bremen, Roselyn Bruns of St. Henry, Lester Bruns of St. Henry and Dorothy (Dennis) Bills of St. Henry.
She is also preceded in death by sons Gary Bruns, Steven Bruns and Douglas Bruns; a great-grandchild; siblings Margie Nolan and Don Gehle; and in-laws Ivo (Jean) Bruns, Marita (Ed) Elking, Ralph Bruns, and Joannie Bruns
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Philothea, the ladies sodality of the church. She was a homemaker who also worked at Hemmelgarn's, Chief and the Hospital Cafeteria. Joan was a caregiver her entire life.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at St. Mary Church, Philothea. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp funeral home in Coldwater from 3 to 7 PM on Monday and 9 to 10 am on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mercer County Council on Aging.
