Helen Wellman
Helen M. Wellman, 94, of New Knoxville, died 4:35 A.M. Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Elmwood of New Bremen.
She was born March 27, 1927, in Auglaize County, Ohio, the daughter of August and Matilda (Lammers) Fledderjohann. She married Paul Wellman on April 11, 1948, at the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children: Mark (Patricia) Wellman of New Knoxville; Ned (Lisa) Wellman of Hilliard; Mary (Keith) Howe of Pataskala; Jane (Zane) Baughman of Troy. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer (Ryan) Miltner; Jack (Jaime) Wellman; Jim (Amy) Wellman; Jodi (Kyle) Hamstreet; Jeff (Julia) Wellman; Ben (Ginger) Howe; Daniel (Tessa) Howe; Mandy (Jeremy) Paulus; Nick (Becky Jantonio) Baughman. She is survived by her great-grandchildren: Jessica Miltner; Colin Miltner; Cole, Hunter, Mia, Wyatt, Emma, Keianna, Keira, and Kellen Wellman; Jacob (Madison) Lampron; Ella Howe; Briley Howe; Ethan Paulus; Katelyn Paulus; Dean Baughman; Grant Baughman, plus one more great-grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; by her siblings: Vernon Fledderjohann; Ralph Fledderjohann; Elmeda Wierwille; Myron Fledderjohann; Mildred Fledderjohann and Kermit Fledderjohann.
Helen graduated from New Knoxville High School and was the last living member of her class. She retired from Brookside Labs in New Knoxville and was proud to have been a farmer's wife. Helen worked hard all her life and was a member of the First Church of New Knoxville.
Funeral rites will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Joel Bucklin, officiant. Helen's family requests that all attendees wear a mask. Private family burial rites will be held at Evangelical Protestant Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Friends may call from noon until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts, in lieu of flowers, may be given to Grand Lake Hospice.
