* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Occasional wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph are expected today.
Winds will mainly be out of the south early this morning, before switching to the west during the late morning and early afternoon.

Shirley Gower

Shirley L. Gower, 82, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024, surrounded by family at EverHeart Hospice in Greenville, Ohio.

Shirley was born on January 29, 1942, to Donald and Florence (Bowman) Corbly in Union City, Indiana.

Shirley spent her entire life farming alongside her husband for nearly 60 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, planting flowers, playing euchre, watching her birds, mowing grass and frequent trips to the casino.

Shirley is survived by her four children, Teresa (Jeff) Beanblossom of Union City, Ohio, Bruce Gower of Union City, Indiana, Michael (Holly) Gower of New Weston, Ohio, and Steve (Alyssa) Gower of Dimondale, Michigan; 11 grandchildren, Clete (Sharah) Beanblossom, Chad (Amy) Beanblossom, Angela (Camron) Pollic, Michael (Joyce) Gower, Justin (Jessica) Gower, Alisha (Zach) Pruitt, Brooke (Grant) Hoehne, Tyler Gower, Connor Gower, Audrey Gower, and Caleb Gower; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her loving sister Sharon Crotinger.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert A. Gower, her daughter-in-law Shirley Mae Gower, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday January 2, 2025, from 5-8pm, at Reichard Funeral Home 400 W. Deerfield Road Union City, IN 47390.

Funeral Services will take place on Friday January 3, 2025, at 10:30 am with burial in Teegarden Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the kind folks at Miami Valley Hospital and EverHeart Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to EverHeart Hospice in Greenville, Ohio.
