Evelyn Woeste
Evelyn M. Woeste, 97, Coldwater, and formerly of St. Rose, died Dec. 28, 2014, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born Aug. 1, 1917, in Philothea, to Ben and Catherine Schoenlein Dues. On Oct. 12, 1940, she married Clete Woeste, who survives.
Other survivors are three children, Janice (Don) Broering, Coldwater, Frank (Donna) Woeste, St. Henry, and Karen (Jim) Scheer, Celina; a son-in-law, Brad Hegemier, Minster; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Jansen, Coldwater; and in-laws, Helen Dues, Coldwater, and Betty (Gene) East, Tipp City.
Deceased are a daughter, Joan Hegemier; a sister, Mary (Bill) Wellman; three brothers, Walter Dues, Gene (Rita) Dues and Melvin Dues; and in-laws, Dennis Jansen, Velma (Ferd) Dwenger and Mary (Les) Hubartt.
She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and volunteered at Mercer County Community Hospital and Briarwood Manor, both of Coldwater. Prior to her marriage, she worked at the Knitting Mill in Fort Wayne, Ind., and Buckeye Apparel in Coldwater.
She was a very gentle and optimistic person who loved her family. She enjoyed her flower garden, bingo and chocolate.
Private family services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Briarwood Activity Fund.
