The 2009 Mercer County Fair Demolition Derby had some fast paced hard hits as always. The basic demolition derby car is stripped down to the bare running essentials. All glass, extra seats and interior fabrics are removed. Doors are wired shut to maintain safety, and the gas can and battery is moved into the passenger compartment for added safety. After all cars in a heat enter the pit, the bulldozer closes off the entrance, and the round gets underway. There were only three separate heats this year, one powderpuff heat, one compact car heat and one full size heat, which was also the feature. The winner of the Powderpuff division was Missy Behm of celina. The compact division winner was the aliased Rockin Bomber who put on a spectacular show. The winner of the best dressed car, and the Feature Winner was 15 year old Josh Braun of Celina.
