Viola Miller
Viola Mae Miller, 81, 816 S. Elm St., Celina, died at 7:17 p.m. Feb. 13, 2008, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Oct. 30, 1926, in Montezuma, to Ralph and Helen Ritchie Long. On Nov. 13, 1944, she married Ril T. Miller, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Ronald (Becky), Kokomo, Ind., and Randy (Shirley), Van Wert; four daughters, Rosa Van Gundy, Rockford, Linda (Ed) Frey, Ohio City, Rebecca (Mike) Barber, St. Marys, and Lori (Edmund) Heckert, Ashland; two sisters, Jennie (Lewis) Merkle, Montezuma, and Betty (Larry) Hamilton, Mendon; a sister-in-law, Eva Ritchie, Celina; 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Deborah Sue; a half brother, Robert Ritchie; and a son-in-law, George Van Gundy.
She was a retired cook for the former Mendon-Union School. A 1944 graduate of Celina High School, she was a member of Montezuma Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school, and was president of the Ohio Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary, and a former member of the Mendon Civic Club.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Kevin Neumann officiating. Burial is at Mendon Cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Friday and after 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
